About Our Story

It’s not easy to ascertain human beings interests in life. Some might discover solace in Trekking or Travelling, while some might find it in worldliness. But today we will be introducing you to such brothers who are fond of eating with tastes and serving the best tastes to others too. They are Salvi brothers, Ameya Salvi and Gautam Salvi.

To a certain extent, one need to have it in your genes , the fondness towards doing exercise or travelling or even driving , and similarly these brothers had this penchant towards not just eating tasty food but also serving it out to others. Somewhere this deep fondness towards eating is the reason of establishing Khavayye.

As such these brothers belong to different behavioral patterns. Both had kicked off their career in different fields. Gautam the eldest brother has pursued his graduation in Hotel Management from D.Y Patil College in 2008, by securing the top most position. Later he was associated with big names in Hotel Industry like Fort Agwada , Taj Village Goa. But the businessman within, resulted in quitting the job and establishing his own business. He left his highly salaried job and decided to shift to Mumbai again. But as a matter of fact, he just didn’t fantasied about his dreams, within six months of quitting the job, he adventurously turned his dream into reality by starting his own specialized Marathi cuisine restaurant “Namaskar” (Greetings!) at Portuguese Church Dadar- Mumbai. In addition to that, he also started providing catering services to the prestigious institutions like Poddar International School, Hinduja Hospital, Bombay Scottish School, Gulf Oil, HSBC Bank, Nair Hospital, Head Quarters of Mumbai Municipal Corporation Endemol India, L& T Limited.

Whereas the younger brother Ameya Salvi and me were introduced to each other when Ameya was playing the title role of Bokya in popular television series Bokya Saathbande. Later he also easily portrayed younger Lakshmikant Berde in Marathi feature film Jigar. After completing his secondary education from Balmohan Vidyamandir and pursuing his graduation from D.G Ruparel College, he was associated as Executive Producer with eminent channels like Saam Marathi, E.TV Marathi, and Star Pravah for few years. After his successful stints with various channels he was deputed as Head Project with Endemol India, wherein he produced various serials like Maharashtracha Super star, Divided, Lagori etc.

Again he still was not still not satisfied by his own achievements, he finally took up the challenge to start his own production company and produced a popular Marathi series “Hum to Tere Aashique Hain” aired on Zee Marathi channel.

Inspite of their achievements, the genetic attraction towards eating, didn’t allow them to continue their respective successful careers. Finally both these brothers came together and decided to serve community, by establishing a restaurant focusing on only Marathi culture and cuisine “Khavayye” on 26th January 2019.

The specialty of Khavayye is the best combination of traditional food and taste along with the innovation. Just one glance on the Menu card and you will realize it, along with the traditional food, Ukadiche Modak Malvani Masala, Mango Ukadiche Modak, Puranpoli Icecream, Ukadiche Modak Icecream such innovative dishes too are also served, to cater every single person’s eating tastes.

Another special attraction to visit Khavayye any time 365 days, is cuisines like Ukadiche Modak (steamed traditional sweet dish, stuffed with coconut sweet ingredients), Puranpoli and the special Four Khavayye Thalis (Potbhar Jevan, Gavran Thali and KHAVAYYE SPL KOKANKANYA THALI) are served on your platter, throughout the year and Aamras Thali in mango Season with SPL HAPUS AAMRAS.

There is a strong belief that, Marathi individuals cannot start or run a business, but both these brothers with their sheer determination have challenged this misunderstanding and affirmed themselves as successful businessmen in the society.
